What is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is the most widely known non-psychoactive cannabinoid contained inside hemp and marijuana plants. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the only psychoactive cannabinoid currently known.

Hemp oil and hemp derived CBD products contain only trace amounts of THC, each product has to have less than 0.3% to be considered legal industrial hemp. Marijuana and hemp are types of the cannabis species, however, cannabis does not mean marijuana. Cannabis is the genus name and general umbrella term under which all types of hemp and marijuana are classified.

Until recently, delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as the active form of THC, was the most studied cannabinoid due to its mind altering (psychoactive) effects, cultural awareness, and use worldwide.  Unlike THC, CBD does not cause any psychoactive effects to the user , which are the driving force towards the legalization/decriminalization of CBD across the world.

After almost a century of carefully orchestrated fear and propaganda by governments and industrialists with agendas against hemp, we are finally beginning to truly grasp the wonders the CBD molecule and its potential for humanity’s health and wellbeing. CBD does not usually have any immediate noticeable effects, although some users would disagree when using strong concentrations known as “full spectrum extracts”.

Our CBD products are derived from hemp (not marijuana). They can also be referred to as CBD oil, CBD-rich hemp flower, hemp-derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or “hemp flowers and extracts,” since they typically contain more aromatic compounds and cannabinoids than just CBD alone. CBD oil is not the same as hemp seed oil and organic hemp oil, as they are created from hemp seeds (not the resin) and don’t contain cannabidiol.
